It’s more than a game—it’s a path to confidence, leadership, and critical thinking.

Strategy Is a Superpower

At GSCP, we know that sports build strength, but strategy builds minds. That’s why we’re adding chess to our Cultural Support Program to help young people in the Congo develop critical thinking, patience, and confidence.

Chess is new to many of the youth we work with, but already it’s sparking curiosity and pride. With your help, we can expand this program and use the game as a tool for education and personal growth.

Who We’re Looking For

This opportunity isn’t just for chess masters—it’s for anyone who sees the value of the game as a tool for development. We welcome:

  • Anyone who enjoys chess and wants to teach it to kids

  • Volunteers who believe in the power of logic, focus, and mentorship

  • Educators or leaders who can use games to teach life skills

  • Youth workers or community mentors with a heart for empowering others

  • If you love chess—or just love helping young people grow—your skills are needed.

“You don’t need to speak the same language to play chess. The board becomes a bridge.”

What You’ll Do

  • Introduce kids to the basics of chess in a fun, accessible way

  • Support ongoing lessons and help build local chess clubs

  • Use the game to teach planning, patience, and decision-making

Be a consistent, encouraging presence in a child’s life
